Discover Freiburg and the Black Forest in all of its facets and beauty.
Guided tour of Freiburg
Freiburg – The capital of the Black Forest
Pampered by the sun and full of zest for life – that’s how Freiburg welcomes its guests. Great philosophers such as Heidegger, Husserl and Eucken lived and worked in this tradition-steeped university town with its narrow, meandering streets, idyllic inner courtyards and famous “bächle”, little streams that flow through the town. Freiburg is an old city with an almost 900-year history but it isn’t old fashioned. Today, the city presents itself as a first-class science and academic location in Germany.

Our winery is located in Freiburg-St.Georgen, the southern-most district of the Black Forest metropolis. The vineyards are located at the Schönberg Mountain and form the gate to the Markgräflerland region.
As early as 873, St. Georgen is mentioned as a winegrowing community, as evidenced by documents from the Swiss monastery of St. Gallen. This tradition has been cultivated by our ancestors for centuries through various professions such as farmer, vintner, wine and wood cooper, and cellar master.
Our philosophy is to preserve tradition and open ourselves to progress and modernity. It is a matter of course for us to cultivate our vineyards in an environmentally friendly way, to realize the terroir concept in the best possible way and to give our wines their typical character and profile.
